How to auto-reply to Instagram comments

Instead of answering hundreds of "price?" comments on a campaign post one by one, set the rule once. IGFlow has two ready-made paths: scan a post's comments and reply, or reply whenever your account is mentioned.

Updated:

Path 1: reply to a post's comments

The "auto-reply to post comments" recipe reads a post's comments, runs them through a comment filter and replies to the matches. The chain is: post info → comments → comment filter → reply to comment.

  1. On the Automations screen, choose "auto-reply to post comments".
  2. Paste the post link.
  3. Set the filter, for example only comments that contain a certain word.
  4. Write the reply and set the reply budget per run.
  5. Run it and see the answered comments in the report.

Path 2: reply when you're mentioned

The "reply when I'm mentioned" recipe fires when someone tags your account in a comment. You can make it reply only when a certain word appears. It runs instantly while the live connection is on.

Moving from comment to DM

For pricing or anything personal it may be better to answer in a DM rather than a public comment. In the flow builder, add a "send DM" action after the comment filter, instead of or next to the comment reply. Because of Instagram's message request rules, a DM to someone who doesn't follow you may land in their requests folder.

Tips

  • Don't send everyone the same sentence: add the username or use a few variations
  • Use a campaign keyword instead of a very broad filter
  • Review the per-run reply budget during busy campaigns

Frequently asked questions

Can it reply to comments on older posts?

Yes. The post comments recipe reads the existing comments of the post you link; for new comments, run it on a schedule.

Will the same comment get two replies?

Each run is capped by a reply budget. If you run the same post regularly, add the "dedupe" node in the flow builder to skip comments you've already answered.
